Community Web Sites

Greenville, NC As part of our service to the communities where we live and work, we are pleased to offer, to geeksnet subscribers, free web space for your local charitable, non-profit organization. That means if you build a web site, we will host it for free. You can have a web site for your church, your Boy Scout Troop or your service club...any local, charitable not-for-profit organization.

1. Design your site. It must be formatted in HTML along with any appropriate graphics (.gif or .jpg) files (Check the members of your organization and you're likely to find someone who is able to create these types of files).
2. After your site is built, e-mail webmaster@geeksnet.com with the name of your organization and we'll create a folder on our server and set up File Transfer Protocol (FTP) permissions allowing you to upload and edit your pages yourself, anytime.
3. That's it!

Please note:
Your web site address (URL) will be something like:

"http://www.geeksnet.com/organizationname" or
"http://www.cgxonline.com/organizationname"

For a fee, we can also arrange for a "virtual domain name" for your site, making your internet address "http://www.organizationname.org". E-mail webmaster@geeksnet.com for more information.

  • You may have 2 megabytes of space for free. More is available for a small monthly fee.
  • Dial-up Internet subscription not included in price.
  • Free non-profit pages are not available to government or government-funded organizations.
  • geeksnet reserves the right to edit or refuse pages if content or links are determined to be objectionable or inappropriate.
  • geeksnet reserves the right to edit or remove pages if access exceeds reasonable levels.
  • This web space may not be used to solicit contributions.
