Each business is as individual as the people who run it. Do you know the best network environment solution for you office? Do you know the similarities and differences between the three network environments? Let us take a moment to assist you.

Windows 95/98 Peer-to-Peer is recommended for offices up to 7 computers. It allows each individual computer to communicate directly with all other computers. One computer need not be 'deemed' the server for centralized file storage. File sharing, printer sharing, internet access across office computers, and centralized back-up location are features of a Peer-to-Peer network.

Windows NT is recommended for more than 7 computers. WinNT controls all log-ins and network security through one centralized location using log-in scripts, system policies, and other security features. WinNT allows easy administration (point and click) for individual workstations from one computer. NT also offers out-of-the-box website management, file sharing, printer sharing, internet access across office computers, and centralized back-up location in its network environment.

Novell 4 is recommended for offices that do not want to allow computers to see each other. In this environment, individual computers only recognize a server. Novell is more detailed in administration using command lines for network administration. Novell 4 offers file sharing, print servers, internet access across office computers, and centralized back-up location in its network environment.
