Double click on the My Computer icon on the desktop, and
open the Dial-Up Networking folder. Click on New...
to open the New Phonebook Entry Wizard. Click on the I know all
about phonebook entries... checkbox to check it, then click
on the Finish button to continue.
In the Edit Phonebook Entry window, click on the Basic
tab. Set up the Basic settings as follows...
Make sure that the proper type of modem is selected. If you don't
know what type of modem is installed on your computer, consult the
documentation or user manual which accompanied your computer. If
the type of modem which is installed on your computer is not listed,
try one of the generic modem types or contact the computer or modem
manufacturer.
Click on the Alternates... button to open the Phone Numbers
window. Set up the Phone Numbers settings as follows...
To add an entry to the Phone Numbers, enter the phone number
in the New phone number field and click on the Add
button.

Click on the OK button to close the Phone Numbers window.
In the Edit Phonebook Entry window, click on the Server
tab. Set up the Server settings as follows...
The only Network Protocol that should be checked is TCP/IP.
If any other protocols are checked, click on them to uncheck them.
Click on the TCP/IP Settings... button to open the PPP
TCP/IP Settings window. Set up the PPP TCP/IP settings as follows...
Click on the OK button to close the PPP TCP/IP Settings
window.
In the Edit Phonebook Entry window, click on the Script
tab. Make sure that After dialing (login) is set to None.
If it is not, click on None to select it.
Click on the Security tab. Make sure that Authentication
and encryption policy is set to Accept any authentication
including clear text. If it is not, click on Accept any authentication
including clear text to select it.
Click on the OK button to finish creating the new Phonebook
entry.
